Choosing your wedding colors is one of the hardest wedding decisions you’ll have to make. Oftentimes, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of gorgeous colour options, and your colour preferences change on a weekly basis.
Bridesmaid dresses are such a huge focus on your wedding day, it’s important that you choose a dress colour that you really love and fits into the theme of your wedding.
- Consider the colour in the season. Do your research, ask wedding planners for the trending colours in the season and consider using a shade in the colour spectrum for your bridesmaid dresses.
- Consider the colour of your bridal gown. Whatever colour or style you choose, keep that colour in mind so that your bridesmaid’s won’t clash while standing next to you.
- Find your inspiration. Sometimes all it takes is one picture to really inspire the colour palette for your wedding day! Go online, check wedding websites, go through pictures of bridesmaid dresses and you just may find a colour that makes you tick.
- Ask your fiancé. He may have a strong preference of what he does or absolutely doesn't want. Be considerate.
- Consider your favourite colour. If your obsessed with a particular colour like i am, you can select or design your bridesmaid dresses in such colour.
- Be mindful of the dress colour and skin tones of your bridesmaids. Also, be careful not to choose colours that are going to wash out certain skin tones. For example i find lemon green dresses on very fair girls odd.
- Consider a colour different from your wedding colours. As long as it complements your wedding colours, you can select a completely different colour from the colours of the day.
