Something borrowed: Bridesmaid Dresses for Rent!

Choosing your wedding dress is tough enough, but finding a bridesmaid dress that every single one of your girls loves might be even harder.

With the increasing price tag of being a bridesmaid, brides and bridesmaids are gradually embracing renting bridesmaid dresses. There are pros and cons of this wedding trend, let us examine the pros:

  • Your bridesmaids can wear designer dresses for a fraction of the price. It’s the designer dress the bride really wants her girls to wear but one she feels bad asking them to buy and sink a huge hole in their finances. In this situation, everyone can agree to rent the dresses.
  • You don't have to worry about what to do with the dress after the wedding. If you have been walking with various brides down the aisle, you will agree that bridesmaid dresses can be a pain thereafter especially if its a style you never liked knowing full well that the dress is doomed to live alone in the back of your closet immediately after the wedding. A simple solution to this is to opt for renting the dresses.
  • In time of recession frankly speaking, spending a fortune on bridesmaid dresses, (or expecting someone else to) is usually a waste of money. There’s another option, however, for those of you who realize the simple truth: that money spent on buying a one-time dress could be saved by deciding to rent a bridesmaid dress instead for a fraction of the price.
  • You can save a lot of money if you decide to rent bridesmaid dresses. I’m sure you can think of a few things that your money could go to instead of an expensive one-timer. And don’t think that you’re giving up any kind of quality by opting for rental bridesmaid dresses.
Now let us examine the cons:
  • If you decide to rent your bridesmaid dresses, you should be aware that the style option will be very limited.
  • You cannot keep the dresses more than the stipulated time as most dress rental stores begin to charge interest daily after the agreed time of return.
  • If the dress does not fit, you either try on another as rental dresses cannot be altered or custom designed for your bridesmaids.
  • It may be difficult to get the perfect size for your bridesmaids especially if you have sizes 6-16 serving as your bridesmaids.
Brides to be, which option will you go for? RENTING or BUYING?

XOXO
